Requirements to Become an ATP
Organisational Requirements
To be approved as an ACI training provider, your organisation must demonstrate:
- A registered legal entity with a minimum of two years of operation in the training sector
- A documented quality management system for training delivery (ISO 29993 or equivalent is advantageous but not mandatory)
- Adequate training facilities (physical or virtual) that meet ACI standards for delegate capacity, accessibility, and technology
- Professional indemnity insurance covering training activities
- Compliance with applicable local regulations for training providers
Trainer Requirements
All trainers delivering ACI-approved courses must:
- Hold a current ACI certification at Lead Auditor grade or above in the relevant scheme
- Have a minimum of three years of active audit experience
- Demonstrate competence in training delivery (a formal training qualification such as a Certificate in Training Practice is preferred)
- Maintain their ACI certification and CPD throughout the approval period
Course Requirements
Each course submitted for approval must meet the ACI course specification for the relevant scheme and grade, including minimum contact hours, assessment criteria, and learning outcomes. ACI provides detailed course specifications upon application.

How to Apply
The ATP application process typically takes 6 to 10 weeks from initial submission to approval decision.

Submit Application
Complete the application form and submit all required documentation along with the application fee.
Desk Review
ACI reviews your documentation against the ATP criteria. Additional information may be requested at this stage.
Observation Visit
An ACI assessor observes a live or simulated course delivery to verify training quality and adherence to course specifications.
Approval Decision
The ACI Training Committee reviews the assessment report and issues a decision. Approved ATPs are listed on the ACI directory.

Quality Monitoring
ATPs are subject to ongoing quality monitoring by ACI, which may include unannounced observation visits, delegate feedback analysis, and annual compliance reviews. ATPs must maintain a minimum delegate satisfaction rating of 80%.
Reporting Requirements
- Register all delegates with ACI within 5 working days of course completion
- Submit course assessment results through the ACI portal
- Report any changes to trainers, facilities, or course content within 20 working days
- Provide annual statistics on course delivery, delegate numbers, and pass rates
Renewal
ATP approval is valid for three years. Renewal requires evidence of continued compliance, updated documentation, and payment of the renewal fee. ATPs with a strong compliance record may benefit from a simplified renewal process.
Suspension and Withdrawal
ACI reserves the right to suspend or withdraw ATP approval if a provider fails to meet the ongoing requirements, receives persistent negative delegate feedback, or breaches the ATP agreement. A formal review process applies before any withdrawal decision is made.
