Leading ACI's mission to advance auditor competence
Dr. Hargreaves brings extensive experience in personnel certification, quality management, and standards development. Prior to joining ACI, Dr. Hargreaves held senior roles in national accreditation bodies and international standards organisations, contributing to the development of conformity assessment frameworks.
As CEO, Dr. Hargreaves is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Institute, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring that ACI maintains its reputation for rigour, impartiality, and innovation in auditor certification.
Senior Leadership
ACI's senior leadership team is responsible for the day-to-day management of certification operations, training approval, quality assurance, and corporate relationships. Each member brings specialist expertise to their role.
Oversees all certification scheme operations, from application processing through to certification decisions. Responsible for ensuring that ACI's certification programmes comply with ISO/IEC 17024 and meet the expectations of stakeholders.
Brings significant experience in conformity assessment and personnel certification from previous roles in international certification bodies.
Manages the approval and oversight of Approved Training Providers (ATPs) and their course offerings. Ensures that training programmes meet ACI's quality standards and adequately prepare candidates for certification examinations.
Previously led training development programmes at a national quality institute and has authored training materials for several ISO management system standards.
Responsible for ACI's quality management system, internal auditing programme, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensures that all processes meet accreditation requirements and drives operational excellence across the organisation.
A qualified lead auditor with deep expertise in ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17024, and management system certification body operations.
Leads ACI's relationships with corporate members, endorsed employers, and industry partners. Develops programmes that help organisations identify, develop, and retain qualified auditors within their teams.
Brings a background in professional body membership, corporate engagement, and strategic partnerships within the conformity assessment sector.
Drives ACI's digital transformation strategy, including the Card ID platform, QR verification system, Professional Register, and online examination delivery. Ensures that ACI's technology infrastructure supports secure and efficient certification operations.
Has a background in digital product development for regulated industries and a passion for user-centred design in professional services.
