Find CPD Activities to
Maintain Your Certification
Explore the range of Continuing Professional Development activities recognised by ACI. From formal training courses to self-study, there are multiple ways to earn the credits you need.
Four Ways to Earn CPD Credits
ACI recognises structured learning, professional practice, and knowledge sharing as valid CPD.
Formal training delivered by ACI-Approved Training Providers and live ACI webinars. The highest credit values and automatic verification.
Courses and workshops from recognised professional bodies, universities, and industry training providers. Pre-approval recommended.
Industry conferences, ISO technical committee meetings, professional seminars, and networking events. Earn 1-3 credits per day.
Independent reading, standards review, article writing, mentoring, and knowledge sharing. Maximum 5 self-study credits per cycle.
Activity Types and Credit Values
Each CPD activity type has defined credit values. Plan your development to meet your grade requirements efficiently.
The most credit-dense CPD activity. A 5-day Lead Auditor course awards 31 CPD credits — enough to cover an entire cycle for PA/AA grade holders.
Foundation and Internal Auditor courses award 14-24 credits depending on duration. An efficient way to add scheme expertise and earn substantial CPD.
Monthly live webinars on auditing topics, standard updates, and best practices. Free for ACI members. Recorded versions available for 1 credit each.
Attend recognised industry conferences and earn up to 3 credits per day of attendance. Submit attendance confirmation as evidence.
Publish an article in a peer-reviewed journal on auditing, management systems, or related compliance topics. Submit published copy as evidence.
Write and publish a technical article or blog post on auditing methodology, standard interpretation, or case studies. Must be publicly accessible.
Serve as a formal mentor to PA or AA grade auditors. Document the mentoring relationship and outcomes. Maximum 5 credits per cycle.
Review new standards, read professional books, complete online modules. Log activities with notes or a reading journal. Maximum 5 credits per cycle.
Free ACI Ethics Module
Every ACI certified auditor must complete 3 ethics credits per 3-year cycle. The ACI Ethics Module is designed specifically to satisfy this requirement in full — and it is completely free for all ACI certificate holders.
The module covers professional conduct, confidentiality, impartiality, conflict of interest, and the ACI Code of Ethics. It includes real-world scenarios and a short assessment to confirm understanding.
Access the Ethics Module at any time through the ACI Learning Hub. Once completed, the 3 ethics credits are automatically added to your CPD log. No additional submission or evidence is required.
Making the Most of Your CPD
Practical advice for planning and completing your CPD efficiently.
Do not leave CPD until the final year of your cycle. Spread activities across all three years to reduce pressure and ensure you have time to address any shortfall.
Combine high-credit activities like training courses with lower-credit activities like webinars and self-study. A diverse CPD log demonstrates well-rounded development.
Record each CPD activity in your ACI portal as soon as it is completed. Upload evidence while it is fresh. This avoids a last-minute scramble at renewal time.
Take advantage of the free ACI Ethics Module and monthly ACI webinars. These alone can contribute 6-12 credits per cycle at no cost beyond your membership.
If you plan to claim credits for external courses or conferences, submit them for pre-approval through the ACI portal. This ensures they will be accepted at renewal.
If you hold LA grade or above, consider becoming a guest speaker or trainer. Teaching and mentoring activities earn valuable CPD credits while building your professional network.
Browse ACI-approved training courses or log your existing CPD activities in the ACI portal.
